tmo_signWhile T-Mobile might be considered one of the four major carriers in the US, they just aren’t as big compared to the likes of AT&T and Verizon. However given the rate at which the carrier is bringing in new subscribers, perhaps it’s only a matter of time before they start catching up. According to the carrier’s latest figures, it seems that they have managed to add a total of 8.3 million new customers in 2014.

This is an 89% increase from the year before which is actually a pretty huge leap. Out of the 8.3 million new customers, 4.9 million are branded postpaid net customer additions, and according to T-Mobile, this makes it 265 million people who are now covered by the carrier’s 4G LTE network. Breaking it down further, T-Mobile revealed that they added 2.1 million customers in Q4 2014, 1.3 million of which are branded postpaid net customers.

T-Mobile’s CEO also bragged about the carrier being the only one allowing users to roll over unused data, although we guess that is no longer true as AT&T has recently confirmed a similar offer to their customers. However T-Mobile has indeed been making a lot of waves as of late. The carrier has been making some rather controversial moves in a bid to gain new customers.

For example early last year, T-Mobile revealed that they would be more than willing to pay your ETF if you were to switch to their network, and based on T-Mobile’s increase in subscribers, safe to say that more than a few have taken them up on their offer.
