Elon Musk’s all-electric car company Tesla unveiled the Model S P85D back in October last year. Its a high-end model that’s pricey but packed with tons of features but undoubtedly the car’s two electric motors pumping out 691 horsepower are the main attraction. This $120,000 electric car has an “Insane” button on the control panel which when pressed makes the P85D go bonkers.

Musk said that Tesla wanted to achieve the acceleration drivers would usually find on the world’s best supercars which rely on conventional fuels. People who think that electric cars are nothing more than glorified golf carts will be seriously impressed after looking at this video compilation posted online by a P85D owner named Brooks.

Brooks demonstrated just how serious Insane mode is in the Tesla Model S P85D by taking unsuspecting passengers, mainly his friends and family, for a ride. The car does 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds so one can only imagine what those unsuspecting passengers might have felt.

The reactions in the video are amusing to say the least. There’s a lot of swearing and one passenger even loses control of the smartphone in their hand because the acceleration is simply off the charts.

In case you’re wondering Sport is the other mode and it dials down things just enough to make them bearable. Tesla Model S P85D is intended as a high-performance vehicle after all so now there’s ample proof to show that it can really give conventional performance cars a run for their money.
