twitter-translationCommunication is an extremely important aspect in life – as you need to be able to get your message across, as well as understand what others are trying to tell you, through a conversation – taking into account the type of words used, the tone, not to mention accompanied by the various signals of body language. Well, being able to understand multiple languages is also a possible advantage, but when it comes to the Internet, machine translation can only bring you so far. Twitter might want to chip in and help, tweeting that their Android and iOS apps will now boast of a new feature which is known as “Tweet translation”, and Bing Translator would be the one powering it.

With Tweet translation, one will be able to read tweets that have been sent in foreign languages. This new feature can be activated in a jiffy – each time that you pick up a tweet in a foreign language, all that you need click to do is to click on the icon of the globe, and check out a translated version of the tweet right under the original message.

Of course, do not expect the translation to be 100% accurate despite the use of advanced language software, since machine translation is still far from perfect. Well, at the very least, one will still be able to get the gist of simple sentences, right?
