We’re merely a week into the new year and rumors have already begun about Samsung’s tablet plans for 2015. The company hasn’t said how many tablets it plans on launching this year, it will reportedly cut down on the number of smartphones in 2015, but it is unclear whether the same strategy will be adopted for tablets as well. A new report claims that the company is currently working on two new Android powered tablets geared primarily towards the budget conscious customer.

Sammobile reports that these new budget tablets are being developed under the Project Goya codename, and have the model numbers SM-T116 and SM-T113. The model numbers suggest that these tablets might be successors to the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite models, so expect low-end specifications if that really is the case.

The SM-T113 has popped up in the import tracker Zauba which is usually where upcoming low-end Samsung devices are spotted. The report suggests that these tablets will be destined for European markets as well so they might not just be limited to emerging markets.

No concrete details about the specifications of both tablets are available at this point in time, and it is also unknown when exactly Samsung intends to make them public, we’ll keep an eye out for more information.
