youtube-ps4Capturing clean and crystal clear videos is a priority for many a videographer, however during the editing process, perhaps you’d like to toss in a filter or two to give the video a different look. Maybe you want it to be black and white, maybe you want to give it a noir look, and etc. The folks at Android Police have recent gotten their hands on the APK for YouTube 10.02.3 and in the teardown, they discovered some interesting features.

One of the main things they noticed was the fact that the YouTube app for Android had some hints of development efforts towards giving YouTube a filter suite. What does this mean? Well this means that users will be able to upload videos onto YouTube and apply a filter to the final result, as opposed to having to edit the video in a video processing software.

Granted this won’t magically make your videos better, but novice users who just wants to share simple videos and create some weird and cool effects, we reckon this ought to do the trick. The code has revealed about half-a-dozen filters that are in the works, which includes color correction, overlay masks, as well as the usual suspects such as film grain, sepia tint, and so on.

It is unclear as to when these filters are expected to go live, but presumably with their code having been spotted in the latest version of YouTube, we can only assume that perhaps these features will go live in the next update, or the one after that.
