xbox oneRight now the Microsoft Xbox One console is priced at $349 which is a lot more affordable than what the console was priced at when it was first launched. In fact it is even cheaper than when Microsoft made the first price cut to $399, and if you have yet to take advantage of it you don’t have to rush because according an analyst, he believes Microsoft will not be taking the price back up.

According to analyst Michael Pachter who spoke to GameInformer, he believes that Microsoft’s price reduction to $349 will be a permanent move. “It’s not officially a price cut – it’s promotional pricing. This allows the retailer to advertise regularly $399 and now it’s $349, but I have a feeling it will never go back up.”

For those unfamiliar, Microsoft brought the price of the console down from $399 to $349. The offer was expected to end come January, but later Microsoft had a change of heart and brought it down again. The way Microsoft had worded it made it sound like it was a promotion, but at the same time they did not provide any specifics on when the offer would end, which is why Pachter is speculating that it might be forever.

Ever since Microsoft made their price cuts, the console has been doing pretty well for itself and even managed to outsell Sony’s PlayStation 4 at one point. However if you are hoping that Sony would respond in kind, they won’t as Sony had earlier confirmed that they will not lowering the price of its PlayStation 4 just to compete with Microsoft.
