apple logoWhile we more or less know that Apple has a reputation for guarding their secrets zealously – including yet unreleased products, the company intends to bring things up by a few notches concerning the secrecy of upcoming iPhone and iPad models by looking in the direction of third-party accessory makers, which so happen to be the main source of product leaks. Prior to the iPhone 6’s launch, Apple did request for a number of leading accessory makers to sign agreements that prevented them from seeking out information concerning upcoming Apple devices.

As with most things in life, there are two sides to a coin. This agreement would see the loss of “future business opportunities that Apple and/or its affiliates may present to you” as a potential consequence should the accessory manufacturer go up against this agreement, or if they do not want to sign it. Should they actually agree to Apple’s agreement, doing so might result in a long delay when it comes to churning out accessories for the new handset – which would mean losing out on making plenty of cash during the initial few months of a new iPhone’s release, as that is when a protective case would be in greatest demand as folks naturally want to protect their new asset.
