BlackBerry’s recent devices, the Passport and Classic, have done well than other smartphones that the company has released recently. Time and again CEO John Chen has reiterated that there are no plans of shutting down the hardware business and that BlackBerry will continue to release new smartphones. It has been a while since we heard about an upcoming BB device, though rumors of the Rio have come up, and now accessory listings for this device are being spotted.

Case manufacturers usually receive information about upcoming devices beforehand which allows them to get their products ready in time for the release. This is one of the reasons why we often see so many leaks about a particular device.

We first heard about the BlackBerry Rio last year and because it hasn’t seen the light of day yet many starting to believe that the company had killed the device. If these accessory listings are to be believed then that’s not the case.

Listings have been spotted across multiple third-party sites, such listings also appeared before Classic and Passport were released, so there might be some truth to them.

Cases, holsters, screen protectors and sync pods are the kind of accessories usually released for a BlackBerry device.

So far BlackBerry hasn’t confirmed if and when the Rio will hit the market. It hasn’t even confirmed if this device exists. We’ll have to wait and see when the company makes it official.
