chromebook-pixel-review-mainWhen it comes to Chromebooks, for the most part they look alright, but Google’s Chromebook Pixel from 2013 probably took the cake in terms of design which has us wondering what Google could have in store for us in future releases. Now if you’re wondering if a Chromebook Pixel 2 could be in the works, recent evidence has surfaced pointing towards its existence.

The evidence came in the form of a video where Google executives reportedly confirmed that existence of the laptop, but unfortunately that video has since been made private. In the video, Renee Niemi, who runs Android and Chrome for Work and Education at Google, was quoted as saying, “We do have a new Pixel coming out and it will be coming out soon.”

Niemi goes on to add, “We will be selling it… but I just have to set your expectations: this is a development platform…This is really a proof of concept. We don’t make very many of these—we really don’t. And our developers and our Googlers consume 85 percent of what we produce. But yes, we do have a new Pixel coming out.”

Unfortunately at the moment not much else is known about the new Chromebook Pixel 2, however a recent rumor has suggested that the device could be a 2-in-1 computer which would allow it to operate as a tablet that runs on Android, or as a laptop that is powered by Chrome OS. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will learn more about the Chromebook Pixel 2 in the near future.
