darksiders-2-ps4

Darksiders 2 publisher Nordic Games has confirmed that a remastered edition of this title is being developed for Sony’s next-generation gaming console, the PlayStation 4. Rumors of a remastered edition started circulating when a listing went live on Amazon only to be pulled hours later. The cat was most definitely out of the bag it seems since Nordic Games felt it was time to formally confirm that Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition is being developed for PlayStation 4.

As far as the listing is confirmed a representative for Nordic Games tells GameSpot that “the authenticity of the listing is unquestionable,” while saying that further details about the project will not be discussed at this time.

It is possible that Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition might also be released for the Xbox One but for now the publisher has not confirmed whether the release would go beyond the PlayStation 4.

Darksiders 2 was released back in August 2012 and it was one of the final titles to come out of THQ, the now-bankrupt publisher, at the time the title was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. In November 2012 it was also released for the Nintendo Wii U.

Nordic Games picked up several of THQ’s properties, Darksiders included, and it was in May 2014 that we first heard about the possibility that the series might not bite the dust.

The publisher hasn’t revealed when Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition will be released for PS4.
