htc-desire-626-1A few days ago, HTC announced the HTC Desire 626, a handset which appears to be packing some mid-range specs. Now during the announcement, it was revealed the handset would be sold in Taiwan where it would be priced at a very affordable $190. There was no mention of whether it would make its way stateside or other markets, at least until now.

According to a recent post by @upleaks, it has been revealed that the HTC Desire 626 could be making its way stateside and onto Sprint as its carrier of choice, although @upleaks notes that it will be arriving on Sprint’s prepaid counterpart, which we guess given its price would make sense for customers looking for a handset on the cheap.

Unfortunately @upleaks did not mention when the handset would be released, so we guess we will just have to keep our eyes peeled for more information. In the meantime as a quick recap for those who might have missed its announcement, the HTC Desire 626 will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display.

It will be powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, LTE connectivity, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat – not too shabby for $190, right?
