huawei-ascend-y540There is a spanking new handset that has just been revealed – although without much fanfare, so much so that it seems to be under the radar, known as the Huawei Ascend Y540. The Huawei Ascend Y540 looks set to be a mid-range handset that targets the budget-oriented, and there has not been an official announcement just yet. Apparently, this particular smartphone will retail in Europe for approximately €100 thereabouts, with a possible €110 price tag, too.

Just what kind of goodies do you get for handing over that amount of dough to Huawei? Well, we are looking at a Snapdragon 200 chipset that will feature a dual-core 1.3GHz processor, which will be a step up from the 1.2GHz clock speed that could be found in its predecessor, the Huawei Ascend Y530. Apart from that, and more importantly, would be the doubling of the amount of RAM to 1GB so that performance is improved.

This new generation handset will feature dual SIM slots alongside dual standby support. To make sure that it has enough juice to run the device for an entire day, it sports a battery capacity of 1,950mAh, all of it powered by Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice. Any takers for this handset?
