lava-iris-xThe Lava Iris X8 was revealed not too long ago – as recently as yesterday, in fact, over on e-commerce website Flipkart in India, and it seems that Lava has decided to launch it officially one day after. The asking price for the Lava Iris X8? We are looking at INR 8,999 a pop, which would be the rough equivalent of $145 after conversion, of course. As for the kind of processing firepower that one will be able to find underneath the hood, let us check it out right after the jump.

The Lava Iris X8 is said to feature a MediaTek chipset with a 1.4Ghz octa-core processor, carries a 5” 1280 x 720 pixel IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail glass protection, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory – which just in case the latter is not enough for your use, there is always a microSD memory card slot to help you out.

At the back lies a decent 8MP shooter with dual LED Flash, while the front sports a 3MP camera for those selfies. The entire shebang would tip the scales at 160 grams, while it measures 70.9mm × 143.4mm × 8.6mm, with connectivity options including the likes of 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0, all of it running on Android 4.4 KitKat that hangs on the promise of an Android 5.0 Lollipop update down the road.
