meizu-m1-noteJust how fast do smartphones fly off the virtual shelves these days? Very fast, apparently. In fact, it does seem as though performing flash sales of handsets is one of the more effective methods of actually increasing the amount of publicity that you are going to get – and Meizu knows this, having gone through a similar experience before. In fact, their latest Meizu M1 smartphone, also known as the Blue Charm, is an entry level device that certainly holds its own out there in terms of sales power.

With a $112 price tag alongside hardware specifications that clearly reside in the mid-range side of things, here we are with word that the Meizu M1 saw 100,000 units being ordered within a minute of sales being opened to the masses yesterday. This is not the first time that such a thing has happened, as the same thing happened last week – where the words “Out of Stock” clearly made an appearance before 60 seconds were up. You know what they say – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Also, there is no point in reinventing the proverbial wheel if this kind of flash sales techniques were to work, right? We do expect to see the same being applied for future handsets – and not just by Meizu.
