huawei-p8It seems that the upcoming Huawei P8 (which was leaked some time close to the end of last month, I might add) is all set to be showcased over at a press conference that is happening over in the UK later this coming April. It is with bated breath, then, that we look forward to Huawei’s commitment when it comes to checking out the viability of using other materials apart from plastic and metal in the construction of its handsets. Chances are zirconia ceramics would be the material of choice when it comes to shaping the Huawei P8’s frame, which would be exciting to see where this route will lead the smartphone industry down the road.

Apart from that, Huawei is also whispered to come up with a third generation Gorilla Glass integrated for the display – and the back panel of the device, too. It has a rumored thickness of just 6mm, which is slim – but not slim enough to be the world’s thinnest handset, of course.

Do expect to see Huawei throw its very own Kirin 930 octa-core processor into the mix as well, and be prepared to hold a 5.2” display with 1080 x 1920 resolution in your hand, playing around with a dual camera setup, alongside a 2,600 mAh battery powering the entire shebang. Right now, it seems that Huawei is tipped to sell the flagship P8 for ¥2,999 (approximately $480 after conversion) in China.
