zelda_link_between_worlds-656x369When it comes to Nintendo’s franchises, Zelda is probably one of the better well-known ones alongside Mario and has been around for quite a while now. The game has seen various release across Nintendo’s multitude of platforms, but could Nintendo be thinking about taking the franchise to whole new heights?

As it turns out, probably. A report from The Wall Street Journal has revealed that Netflix is working with Nintendo on developing a live action Zelda series. Yes, you read that right, Zelda could soon be coming to a TV/computer screen near you acted out by live actors and actresses! Now if you’re trying to wrap your head around that, there are plenty of fanmade live action videos on YouTube for you to get an idea of what to expect.

The report goes on to state that the idea is still in its early stages of development and that Netflix is currently on the lookout for a writer to help write the series. Unsurprisingly the show will star Link and Zelda, although beyond that we’re not too sure what the plot could be about, or if Netflix might draw from existing titles or make something up entirely.

Netflix has had some success with creating their own series like House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, but will they be able to pull off a live action series based on video game characters well-known and loved by many? We guess that remains to be seen, but in the meantime what do you guys think?
