The beauty of Android launchers is that you could skin and theme it to just about any style you want. This means that if you’re a fan of a particular game or movie or celebrity, you could create an Android launched themed around it. The good news is that if you’re a fan of Pokemon but would rather not have some fanmade launcher, you’re in luck as The Pokemon Company has officially announced the Pokemon Style app.
The Pokemon Style app is basically an Android launcher for smartphones and like we said given its announcement by The Pokemon Company, it is an official launcher, so all those icons and images that come with it have all been designed specifically for mobile devices in mind. The launcher is a free download and will feature all 6 generations of Pokemon.
However there are additional themes within the launcher that can be unlocked. Some of these are free while others are paid downloads, so we guess you will have to decide how much you love Pokemon to actually pay for these themes and wallpapers and icons. The good news is that the Pokemon Style app will also be making its way onto iOS, although this won’t be a launcher given the limitations of iOS.
Now here’s the bad news, the Pokemon Style app is an app available only for Japanese users as the app itself is in Japanese. We’re not sure if it will ever get localized and released for other markets, but for now we guess it will be limited to Japan.
