macbook_air_2013_3-800x270The last time we saw a refresh to Apple’s MacBook Air lineup, it was back in April 2014 which means that we could be close to seeing a potential refresh of its hardware, or maybe we could even see the launch of the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air which last we heard was pegged for an early 2015 release.

That being said it seems that the speculation of a refresh is starting to prove itself to be the real deal, according to a report from AppleInsider who has noted that prices of existing 11-inch and 13-inch models have since been reduced by $50-$100, and that restock shipments of the existing MacBook Airs have since been halted.

All of this points to signs that Apple could be getting ready to launch new and improved versions of their MacBook Air laptops and that the price reduction is to help and to allow retailers to get rid of existing inventory ahead of the refresh. As AppleInsider notes, price reductions in Apple products tend to reflect either an upcoming refresh or a sale for the holiday season.

There have been rumors that Apple could be planning an event on the 24th of February in which the company is expected to share more details about the upcoming Apple Watch and possibly to announce the new MacBook Air laptops as well, but either way take it with a grain of salt for now but be sure to check back with us then for the details.
