samsung logo 4As we had reported last year, Samsung’s Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 faced weak signals which were allegedly due to their metal bodies, and with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 rumored to feature a metal body, could we be looking at similar issues as well? Thankfully that might not be the case, according to reports out of Korea which have suggested that Samsung could turn to the use of new antenna technology that will supposedly be able to address the issue.

Basically the antenna in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 is said to have been built and designed in such a way that will allow signal to pass through the phone without its metal chassis affecting it. The new antenna type is said to be a flexible PCB versus previous iterations which relied on the Laser Direct Structuring type, thus allowing the antenna to snake its way through the phone to areas where it will be able to maximize its signal strength.

It sounds good in theory and hopefully when the Samsung Galaxy S6 is launched, which is scheduled for the 1st of March, there will not be any issues lest Samsung is faced with an “antenna gate” of their own which is what Apple had initially experienced when they first launch the iPhone 4.
