sony mwcMWC is usually that time of the year when companies announce new phones that we can get excited over. Now given that Sony had skipped their announcement at CES 2015 last month, we can only assume that they will announce something at MWC next month. Previous rumors had suggested that the Xperia Z4 might skip MWC, but recent invites sent out by Sony suggest otherwise.

The company have recently started to send out invites to their MWC 2015 event which will be held between the 2-5th of March 2015. It is unclear as to what Sony might have in store for us at MWC, but we can look forward to some new phones at least. Of course there is always the possibility that the rumors are true and Sony passes on the Xperia Z4 for a later date, but either way we can look forward to some potentially new devices nonetheless.

Earlier Sony had reportedly revised their plans to release one flagship smartphone a year, as opposed to two which is what they have been doing for the past couple of years. If that is the case, then there is a good chance that Sony’s MWC event will most likely cover devices that aren’t the Xperia Z4, such as new tablets or low-mid range handsets.

Some have speculated that Sony might continue to focus on the Xperia Z3 for now and a recent refresh of the handset’s color options certainly does point towards that case, but either way it is all speculation for now, but do check back with us during MWC 2015 for the details.
