sony-xperia-z3-z3v-review-12There have been rumors that Sony could be skipping out on holding an event at MWC 2015 which kicks off next month. However it was recently that Sony informed their fans that they would be at MWC 2015, but now according to a rumor from Xperia Blog, Sony’s presence at MWC might merely be a booth.

Xperia Blog has heard from their sources that Sony will not holding an event/press conference at MWC. Instead Sony is expected to just have a booth setup and that on Monday, the 2nd of March, Sony will have a small welcome greeting to open the booth up to the media who might be present at the event which is actually rather disappointing.

GIven that this is a small scale event, it seems unlikely that Sony will use it to announce their next flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z4. This seems to corroborate earlier rumors that suggested that Sony could be holding onto the Sony Xperia Z3 a bit longer than we had thought and that they might continue promoting the handset until later in the year where the Xperia Z4 would be launched.

This follows rumors that said that Sony might only choose to focus on one flagship smartphone a year instead of two, which is what Sony has been doing for the past couple of years. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but either check back with us during MWC 2015 for the details.
