southwest appOne of the neat features of Apple’s Passbook app is that it helps to bring together various tickets and boarding passes into a single app, as opposed to having to open multiple apps for different tickets and passes. For the most part a lot of companies have hopped on board with their support for Passbook, except Southwest Airlines, at least until now.

The company has recently updated their app for the iPhone with support for Passbook. Basically what this does is that it allows users to add their boarding pass to Passbook simply by selecting the “Add to Passbook” button and they’re good to go. Apart from that, the update also addresses some bugs in the previous version.

However apart from bug fixes and Passbook support, the app remains relatively unchanged. For those who are unfamiliar with the app, the Southwest Airlines app will allow users to check in, book, change, or cancel their flights within the app itself. It will also let users check up on their flight’s status, boarding position, and gate information.

For travellers on the go, this can come in handy as they would not need access to a computer in order to access these features. The app and its update can be found in the iTunes App Store so head on over for the download.
