spotify-desktop-update

We often see Spotify update its mobile applications and add new features in the process. On the other hand Spotify for desktop does not receive updates as frequently as the mobile apps. Now there is some good news for people who use Spotify for desktop. The music streaming service has released a new update for its desktop software which brings new features and improvements, the biggest being seamless integration of lyrics in the Spotify experience on desktop.

The lyrics feature is powered by Musixmatch, which is the world’s largest lyrics catalogue, users can easily sing along to their favorite songs by just clicking on a button to bring up the lyrics. Using the Explore feature users can also search and browse popular lyrics from the top songs on Spotify.

Spotify for desktop now has a new and improved Friend Feed, making it easier for users to find out what their friends are listening to, all they need to do is scroll down the sidebar to see what songs, playlists and artists their friends are listening to.

Daily viral charts have also been added to Spotify for desktop which would highlight most shared tracks around the world and particularly in a user’s region. All charts will have indicators that highlight new music and how individual tracks perform on a daily basis.

Over the coming weeks this latest Spotify for desktop update will be rolled out for all users around the globe.
