modern-familyWhen watching TV shows or movies, seeing someone use a branded product like an Apple computer or a Microsoft Surface tablet is pretty common, but to film an entire episode using just one brand’s products? That would be pretty unique, and for those who are fans of ABC’s Modern Family, the upcoming episode looks like it will be filmed entirely on Apple’s devices.

The upcoming episode will see Claire Dunphy, the mom, trying to get in touch with her daughter Haley whom she had a fight with and is trying to reconcile with her. However when more conventional methods fail to connect, Claire turns to modern technology to try alternative means to get in touch with her daughter.

This includes the use of FaceTime, Facebook, and etc., all of which should result in some pretty entertaining scenes done in the Modern Family style. The entire episode is said to have been shot using the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 tablets. So what’s with the Apple-inspired episode? Did Apple perhaps offer some sponsorship in exchange for the publicity?

According to Steve Levitan, the show’s co-creator and executive producer, the story was based on his real life and how he communicates with his daughters. Levitan states, “We all had that reference in our heads — this is how families are communicating today. How do we use this to tell a story?”
