The beautiful thing about MMORPGs like World of Warcraft is that even if you aren’t a hardcore raider or enjoy PvP-ing in Arenas or Battlegrounds, there is always something for you to do. You could try to make money via the auction house, go fishing and take part in fishing competitions, pet battles, and recently in Patch 6.1, it seems that you could take part in a mini race as well.

It has been discovered in the upcoming Patch 6.1 that Blizzard has added a mini racing game to the Darkmoon Faire island. For those unfamiliar, the Darkmoon Faire is an event that takes place every so often and it is where players can go to collect/earn loot that they would not be able to get in the game normally.

The goal of this racing game is to hit three posts with a special racing mount as fast as possible. There will be abilities available to gamers to help them speed up, and there are also obstacles placed around the track that will slow you down if you run into them, which we guess in some ways reminds us of Mario Kart.

It looks like a pretty fun game (check out the video above) and will be part of Patch 6.1. The upcoming patch is still being tested on the PTR and there is no word on when Blizzard will release it to gamers. Other features of the patch includes the ability to take selfies, new models for the Blood Elf race, heirlooms are also making their return to vendors in the main cities, and more.
