iPhone-6-review-12

If analysts are correct then it looks like this is going to be yet another good quarter for the iPhone. Analysis conducted by Morgan Stanley predicts that Apple will ship 54 million iPhones in the current quarter. It is expected that Apple will manage to sell these units to end customers and thus this would prove to be yet another record quarter for the company that’s already on the top of its game as far as smartphone sales go.

Morgan Stanley’s AlphaWise Smartphone Tracker actually predicts that there is demand for 55 million iPhone units in this quarter but Apple might not be able to build that many so it will have to make do with 54 million units.

Many Wall Street analysts are predicting the same number for iPhone shipments in the March quarter. The number in itself will be a new record for Apple which is on a bit of a record breaking streak since the past several quarters.

UBS is even more bullish and it predicts 58 million iPhone units for the current quarter. Barclays paints a more “conservative” picture with its prediction of 54 million units.

This would mark a substantial increase year-over-year. Last year in the same quarter Apple sold 43.7 million iPhones and if the predicted figure is met it would bring about a 24 percent year-over-year increase. It would also be the first time that Apple crosses the 50 million barrier outside the holiday period which it has done only twice in the past.
