The internet is a wondrous invention and we’re sure many are wondering what our lives would be like without it. Now some of you guys were born with the internet having already been in place, but there are some who were actually old enough to witness the creation of it but have yet to partake in it which perfectly describes 82-year old Kerstin Wolgers, a woman who has never once used a computer or surfed the internet.
However thanks to an experiment conducted by public relations firm MyNewsDesk, Wolgers agreed to wear a camera strapped to her chest and she finally took the plunge and began to try out computers, tablets, smartphones, and surfed the internet for the first time ever, and let’s just say that the experience was mindblowing.
According to Wolgers, “I have never used a computer or been online before – my life was completely AFK until Monday. This week, I’ve looked into Tinder, Skype, Twitter and Instagram, and played a game of Battlefield 4 – live streamed through a camera strapped on my chest.” She also participated in a Reddit AMA where users asked her all sorts of questions about her first experience.
At one point Wolgers was quoted as saying, “To be honest, I don’t think I was ever interested of the Internet before I realized that it was something I could benefit from. Everything has been very pleasant, but at the same time very difficult.” In the meantime you can check out the short film above which shows her using the internet for the very first time.
