adappt2-800x691When Apple unveiled the Apple Watch, they also shared a variety of different bands and straps that users could opt for depending on their needs and personal taste. The range is pretty varied and covers rubber straps, leather, and metallic straps. However if you’re not a fan of any of the designs Apple has put forth, you will be pleased to learn that Apple Watch band adapters are starting to make their way onto crowdfunding platforms.

The idea is to create an adapter that can fit onto the Apple Watch, thus allowing users to use third-party bands/straps with their Apple Watch. Watch enthusiasts probably have a few bands lying around that they might favor so with the help of these third-party bands, you should technically be able to fit those bands onto the Apple Watch if you were planning on getting it.

Some adapters that have made their way online include the Click and the Adappt, both of which are more or less similar in nature and will allow users to use third-party bands with Apple’s wearable. Adappt has even created some pretty fancy adapters for those who might be eyeing the Apple Watch Edition, like a handcrafted 18k gold adapter made in Milan, Italy which will set you back a whopping $3,450.

We can only imagine that Apple can’t be too happy about these adapters as they basically ruin how Apple wants the Apple Watch to be viewed as. In fact early this year one crowdfunded campaign was shutdown, presumably by Apple for the reasons mentioned earlier.
