boa-shutdownSome time late this January, Bank of America (BoA) did make an announcement that it would eventually take the step to drop support for its apps where Windows Phone devices are concerned. It seems that the day has finally come, where the kill switch has been flipped on. While there was no special or specific reason mentioned back then, it seemed that the store listing was updated to state that “We’ll no longer support this app for this device. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. You can access mobile banking with us through your browser. Just go to www.bankofamerica.com.”

The app has finally been unpublished – not only on the Windows Store, but also on the Windows Phone Store, too. Apart from that, if you were to open the app which has been installed on a Windows Phone earlier on, you would be greeted by an error message that reads like this:.

We no longer support the app and you may not have browser access to bankofamerica.com for this device. But you can access online banking through your laptop or desktop browser or mobile operating system. Just go to bankofamerica.com for a list of browsers and supported operating systems.

Well, perhaps it is time to move on.
