BlackBerry-Q10-Review-11It is not surprising that as software gets updated that older hardware starts to lose its ability to support it, and that appears to be a problem with the latest BlacKBerry OS 10.3.1 update. According to a report from MobileSyrup, it seems that there have been several complaints by BlackBerry users that they have had issues with the update on some older BlackBerry handsets.

These older handsets include the BlackBerry Z10 and the Q10, both of which were some of the first few BlackBerry 10 handsets to be launched. Carriers who have been pushing the update have since confirmed that the update has been pulled and that they are working on a solution for now.

According to a Rogers spokesperson, “We are aware that some devices had an issue with the recent download of 10.3.1 for the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10. BlackBerry is working towards a solution and we will update our customers as soon as possible. The update is no longer being sent out to our customers.”

It is unclear as to when we might be able to expect the update to be fixed and pushed out again. BlackBerry themselves have yet to issue a statement on the matter so it looks like for now we will just have to remain patient.
