Wacom’s Cintiq Companion 2 – the graphics tablet that arrived at the FCC in January this year, happens to be a device which is able to hook up to either a Windows or Mac computer, and while connected, is capable of helping the talented digital artist draw with 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. Apart from that, it can also function as a regular tablet if you so desire, since the Cintiq Companion 2, at its core, is also a fully functional PC, boasting of hardware and software specifications such as a 13.3” display at 2560 x 1440 resolution, an Intel Haswell processor, and Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice. The CG Alchemest has managed to hack the CIntiq Companion 2 to have it run on OS X Yosemite though, as you can see in the video above.

In this particular hack, where the touchscreen works just fine (what a relief!), you will also be pleased as punch to know that the functional on-screen keyboard will make an appearance, with the ability to let you make use of the pen input, too. However, several functions that are not working at this point in time would include Wi-Fi connectivity, entering sleep mode, SD card compatibility, and the volume rockers. Definitely one of the more curious hacks, don’t you think so?
