Fans of the God of War franchise will be pleased to learn that if you’re looking forward to higher resolution graphics and a smoother framerate, your wish has been granted as Sony has recently announced that the God of War 3 title will be brought over onto the Sony PlayStation 4 this July as a remastered copy.

What does this mean, you ask? Basically this means that the version you can look forward to on the PlayStation 4 will have framerates at 60fps and a resolution of 1080p, which should make the game look incredibly beautiful and smooth to play. The game will also be updated with thousands of dynamic lights and will feature four times the texture resolution of its PS3 version.

It will also come with all the downloadable content from the PS3 version. There will also be a new photo mode that according to Sony, will give players a “wealth of creative camera and lighting options, allowing them to freeze, edit, and share photos of all of Kratos’ bloodthirsty exploits.” Given its 1080p resolution the resulting images should be quite crisp and clear.

The game has been pegged for a release on the 14th of July and was announced as part of the franchise’s 10th anniversary celebration. In the meantime gamers can check out the announcement trailer in the video above.
