Late last year Google released a fully redesigned Calendar app for Android. Back then it did say that work on the iPhone version was underway and that it would be released soon. Today the wait finally ends. The redesigned Google Calendar app is now available for the iPhone. Assists, events and schedule view are the three main features of this app.

The app is capable events from Gmail and turning them into calendar items automatically. This is a very handy feature since you don’t have to manually put in all of the events. Make it so much easier to manage your events.

The feature is powerful enough to recognize what might constitute an event. For example if you’re planning to go somewhere on a particular day and time, Google Calendar will pull that information and add a calendar entry.

Assists will automatically provide contacts, places and other suggestions as you make entries to the calendar so consider it as sort of an auto-fill feature.

Schedule view is a good feature to view everything in the calendar. The app will show everything in a simple timeline and will use Material Design to display cards that provide context around those events.

Google Calendar for iPhone is now live and available as a free download from the App Store. It works with both Google Apps and Gmail accounts.
