htc-one-m9-live-4Samsung is not a charity which is why it does not come as a surprise that they are looking to make money, just like most businesses. However it seems that HTC thinks that Samsung is purely after the money and does not care about the user experience or bothers innovating as much as the rest of the industry.

This was recently revealed in an interview with Ad Age where HTC Chief Marketing Officer Idris Mootee was quoted as saying, “The other company, which is a massive brand and enterprise, doesn’t stand for anything except for profit.” When asked if Mootee might be referring to Samsung, he replied in the affirmative.

However like we said, Samsung is not a charity organization which means that they, just like their investors, are looking to make profits and get a return for their investment, and while that’s true of other companies like Apple or even HTC, Mootee thinks that Samsung is missing the emotional connection between the user and the product.

Mootee also did not seem to think much of Xiaomi despite the company managing to beat out Samsung in China and being even bigger than HTC when it comes to manufacturing smartphones. “It’s not really our competitor. I don’t think they’ll ever make it to the U.S., for a million reasons we all know. And I think their business model has a very short lifespan.” Pretty harsh words we’ll have to admit but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how HTC fares for themselves in the near future.
