Earlier today millions of people who use Apple’s devices were unable to access iTunes and the App Store. That’s because two of the biggest content stores on the planet were suffering from an outage. This is the second such outage in just a couple of weeks that took Apple’s content stores offline.

For as long as iTunes and App Store remained offline users couldn’t search for anything. While the app would launch the only result they would get for a query was an error message which said that there were no results for their query. The outage was experienced across the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store and the iBookstore.

Some users even noticed issues with the app during this time. The Featured menu was missing graphics and links. Some apps under categories were also missing. Top Charts weren’t displaying Paid and Top Grossing apps. Only the error that “No Top Charts Content Available.”

Even if a user could view a listing on these content stores they couldn’t download anything. The download would fail every single time so have the ability to view the listing wasn’t of any good.

Fortunately Apple was able to get things back to track. All of the issues were fixed by this afternoon and currently all content stores are working as they should.
