You will be disappointed if you were waiting for a substantial increase in battery capacity for Samsung’s next flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have a 2,550mAh and 2,600mAh battery respectively, and given that its a metal and glass construction, the battery is not user removable. This is where Mophie steps in. The company has confirmed that it will offer a Juice Pack for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung explains that its new Exynos processor coupled with the Broadcom BCM4773 make for a pretty power efficient package so its new smartphones shouldn’t require a charge so often.

If you’re not buying those claims then you’re better of buying a Juice Pack from Mophie. The company builds external battery packs into covers which not only protect devices but extend battery life as well. Mophie has already developed several Juice Packs for the iPhone which has never ever had a removable battery.

Initially Mophie is going to launch a 3,300mAh Juice Pack for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Higher capacity packs will be launched later this year. The extended battery capacity should add another day or so to the life of a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge.

The Juice Pack also features Mophie’s Impact Isolation System which will basically protect the device against drops. Given that the new smartphones are fashioned out of metal and glass, extra protection will certainly go a long way in keeping them safe.

Mophie’s Juice Pack for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge costs $99.99 and will be released on April 10th, that’s when both devices hit the market in 20 countries around the globe.
