Galaxy-S5-Multi-window-640x376One of the cool features of the Samsung Galaxy series would be its multi-window feature which basically allows users to multitask, such as watching a video while taking notes or performing searches on the web, almost like you would be able to do on a computer. Pretty neat, right?

The good news is that if you were hoping that this feature might one day make its way onto Android, you’re in luck as it could very well happen in the future. This is according to the folks at Phandroid who had recently discovered in an AOSP framework code commit that multi-window support is something Google is working on.

According to the code commit it mentions the feature in passing. “Disabling the tap recognition keeps the focus from changing. It will be reenabled for multiwindows.” It is unclear as to when Google will be implementing this feature, but it looks like it is being worked on at the moment. Perhaps we could get more information at Google I/O which will be kicking off in the next few months.

While it might not necessarily be a feature that everyone wants/needs, it will no doubt be a boon for more hardcore Android users who are looking for that multitasking support like they have on computers, but are you one of them?
