oneplus-09OnePlus is a relatively new company with only one smartphone under its belt at the moment, the OnePlus One. While we expect the company will eventually launch a OnePlus Two, the successor to the OnePlus One, the company’s next product launch in April will not be that. OnePlus has recently confirmed to the folks at GSMArena that they will be launching a new product in April.

However it also seems that their upcoming product will not be a smartphone, leaving us to wonder what it could be. The company’s CEO Carl Pei revealed to GSMArena that the company would be entering a new product category and before you jump the gun thinking that it might be a tablet or a smartwatch, think again because Pei has confirmed it will be neither of these.

So what exactly does that leave us? There are plenty of devices and product categories that the company could enter into, maybe building a TV, a fitness tracker, or maybe they plan to compete with the big boys and launch virtual reality headsets of their own – who knows? Perhaps we could be looking at accessories, or maybe it might not even be hardware and could be a service of sorts – music streaming anyone?

In any case it’s pretty much open to speculation at this point in time, but if you’re curious as to what OnePlus could be launching, be sure to check back with us in April for the details.
