Over the past few weeks we have heard whispers about what the next software update for the PlayStation 4 might bring. Today Sony confirmed that the PS4 system update 2.50 is going to be released tomorrow. Codenamed “Yukimura” the update is going to bring an “onslaught” of features to the console. Sony says the update is going to make significant improvements to the overall PlayStation 4 experience.

One of the most anticipated features will finally be making its way to the console. Announced back in 2013 the suspend / resume feature will allow gamers to jump in and out of their games with one press of the PS button.

It will put the console in rest mode. Once the button is pressed the console will turn on automatically and pick up the game where it was left off. According to the company this feature is supported by “nearly all of your PS4 games.”

After the update it will be possible to back-up and restore HDD data associated with a user on the PS4 to an external USB drive. Data that can be transferred includes video clips, screenshots, saved data and settings as well as download data, patches and games.

A new option is also going to be introduced with this update through which Sony will allow PS4 owners to enable automatic future updates.

PS4 system update 2.50 also brings a plethora of other features and improvements to the console. Sony is going to start rolling out the update tomorrow.
