sailfish-os-oneplusI am quite sure that a fair number of us have already been following the story about how Sailfish OS is making its way over to the Android platform for quite a while now. Well, it was first in March of 2014 that an “Early Adopter Release” was released for the Nexus 4, and close to a year after that, it looks as though a similar build has made its way over to the highly successful OnePlus One.

Of course, fair warning should be given to those who are salivating at the prospect of giving this a go, since the existing build will not offer support for Wi-Fi connectivity (a big no-no in this day and age), and neither will the camera work. You can also forget about running Android apps as well as enjoy Over The Air (OTA) updates. Hence, this particular build is meant for the extremely adventurous, and will target only those who happen to be rocking to the OnePlus One as their smartphone of choice.

Should you be a OnePlus One owner and hear the clarion call of giving this particular build a go, then just follow the installation instructions and relevant download links over here. Do you think that Sailfish OS is compelling enough to jump over by abandoning Android?
