Galaxy-A5-Lifestyle-6So last year Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 and early this year, the Samsung Galaxy A7 was unveiled as well. We’re not sure why Samsung chose those naming schemes but we had to wonder what happened to the handsets in the middle? If you were just as curious, you might be interested to learn that Samsung has since filed for trademarks.

The trademarks were for the Galaxy A6, Galaxy A8, and the Galaxy A9. Given the specs of the previous Galaxy A-series of smartphones, it is safe to say that there is a good chance that these handsets will most likely be of the mid-range quality and not of the flagship quality which we guess makes sense given the launch of the Galaxy S6.

Of course Samsung could simply be trademarking these names to protect their intellectual property and might not have any intention of releasing them at all. However Samsung can be a bit predictable and we’re sure that aside from their flagship smartphones, the South Korean tech giant probably has other handsets in the works and the A6, A8 and A9 might be some of them.

It would be hard to tell when these devices might be announced, but Samsung typically announces new products at the start of the year and the later part of the year during IFA, so perhaps we will learn more then. In the meantime are there any chances you would like to see Samsung make to their A-series of smartphones?
