Lumia-430_SkypeYesterday we reported that Microsoft was reportedly gearing up to launch a new low-end Lumia handset that would most likely be targeting emerging markets, and it looks like Microsoft did not disappoint. The company has recently announced via its Lumia Conversations blog the Lumia 430 Windows Phone handset.

Lumia-430_orange-blackThe handset is priced at $70 which would pretty make it Microsoft’s cheapest Windows Phone handset to date. Its price point should also make it relatively affordable in countries where high-end smartphones are largely considered to be out of reach by the masses. So what can we expect from the low-end Lumia 430?

Lumia-430_featFor starters we suppose you shouldn’t really expect too much but the handset will come with a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 display. Under the hood, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset can be found where it is clocked at 1.2GHz. It will also feature 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage and will support microSD cards up to 128GB, so if you just want a device for your music and photos, this should do the trick.

it will also come with a 2MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera with Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim update preinstalled. It is also expected to be released in regions like APAC, IMEA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Belarus starting in April.
