toshiba_6tbIt used to be that back in the day, having 1GB of hard drive storage was considered a rather lavish affair, but fast forward to 2015 having 1TB is considered the standard, and for some a bare minimum. If you’re in that camp and you think that 1TB is still too low, you might be interested to learn that Toshiba has recently announced new 6TB hard drives.

While achieving 6TB in storage is pretty easy if you just stack multiple hard drives in your computer, these are actually single unit hard drives, meaning that one hard drive has 6TB of storage. We suppose this also technically means that could stack multiple 6TB hard drives in your computer and achieve an insane amount of storage if that’s what you’re after.

The hard drives announced by Toshiba include both internal and external hard drives, so if you’re using a laptop or if you don’t have enough space inside your computer’s case, then you can always opt for the external model. The external model will fall under Toshiba’s Canvio Desk lineup while the internal one will be of the internal serial ATA 3.0 variety.

Both hard drives are expected to be released in May 2015 where interestingly enough they will both be priced at $369 each which is actually not too bad in terms of pricing.
