windows-10-p2p-updates

It looks like Microsoft is going to make a major change in Windows 10 to the way it delivers updates for the software. The company has stuck with Windows Update to deliver new releases for quite some time now but according to a new report Microsoft will be using peer-to-peer or P2P technology to deliver updates to all of its users around the globe.

The report points towards the most recent leaked build of Windows 10 which reveals that Microsoft is moving towards P2P in order to deliver updates for Windows 10.

A new option has been spotted in the leaked build which will allow users to enable “updates from more than one place.” Basically this means that OS and app updates will be downloaded from multiple sources to ensure that they are grabbed quickly. People who use torrents are well aware of how P2P works.

So far Microsoft has not publicly confirmed that it plans to deliver updates through P2P however The Verge says it is possible that the company will release a new official Windows 10 preview shortly which will bring these new changes to light.

There is no information as yet on when exactly Microsoft is going to release the new preview for Windows 10. Microsoft is going to release Windows 10 to the public later this year.
