We first heard a couple of weeks back that Microsoft is finally going to allow Xbox One owners to take screenshots. The March update for this console was first seeded to members of the preview program. Today Microsoft confirmed that it is rolling out the Xbox One March update to all console owners. This means they will finally have the ability to take screenshots.

Microsoft took its sweet time to bring this feature to the Xbox One. The console is already able to record gameplay video but taking screenshots was never as easy as pressing and holding the Share button on PS4’s DualShock 4 controller. It has taken over a year for the Xbox One to receive the screenshot feature.

Xbox One owners will now be able to take screenshots, share them to Twitter and even use the screenshot as the dashboard’s background.

Other features included in the Xbox One March update are new transparency settings for tiles and friend suggestions which will help users find other Xbox Live users.

A feature that lets users report spam messages, which have become quite common on Xbox Live over the past few months, also finds its way to the console with the latest update.

The Xbox One March update is rolling out to everybody today.
