xiaomi-mi-tv-2Xiaomi is a company known for producing affordable handsets, and over the past few years the company has taken the wraps off affordable TVs as well. In fact back in 2014 the company launched the Xiaomi Mi TV 2 which was a 49-inch 4K TV priced at $640. Now it looks like the company could be thinking about launching new TVs.

This is according to a recent post by Xiaomi’s CEO on Weibo in which he teased that the company had a new TV planned for the 24th of March. At this point it is unclear as to what TVs Xiaomi will be announcing, but it has been speculated that we could be looking at a Full HD TV and a 4K TV.

Those possibilities were hinted at by a poll on Xiaomi’s website in which they asked customers if they would prefer seeing a Full HD TV or a 4K one. Considering that there isn’t as much 4K content available at the moment, Full HD does seem like the more practical choice, although getting a 4K could be a good way of future proofing yourself.

No word on how much Xiaomi’s new TVs could cost, but considering how much the company has charged for its previous TVs, chances are it would probably be in the affordable range. Either way do check back with us on the 24th of March for the details.
