mi-box-miniIt was in the middle of January this year that we first saw the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi Box Mini, and it sure did not take too long for the Mi Box Mini to be made available internationally. The asking price? Well, apart from Russia with the free falling ruble and the fluctuating dollar, the Mi Box Mini could very well retail in the region of $50 thereabouts, which would surely make it a highly affordable device no matter which way that you look at it.

The Xiaomi Mi Box Mini happens to be an impossibly tiny box which will be able to transform an average TV into a smart TV, now how about that for an instant “upgrade” without having to fork out plenty of money for a brand new TV? Of course, this is nothing new, since the likes of Google, Amazon, Apple, and Roku, among others, have already taken this route.

The Mi Box Mini’s strong suit would be the virtue of it being one of the smallest devices of its type, boasting a size that is approximately that of a USB charger. Over in China, it will retail for approximately $32, making it dirt cheap (relatively speaking) over there. Depending on who you look for online, the prices might range from $50 to $60.

Just to recap, the Xiaomi Mi Box Mini will be powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8685 quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, which is mated to 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, HDMI output, dual-band 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, all of it running on Android 4.4 KitKat with a custom user interface.
