Earlier this year Apple refreshed their MacBook Pro lineup and while the upgrade in hardware was supposed to make the computers faster, it certainly did not feel that way for some users. According to reports, some users are complaining that their new 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro laptops are experiencing UI lag which you can see in the video above.

The lag has resulted in slow/choppy animations and graphics across the entire user interface such as when opening Mission Control or Launchpad, or when launching full-screen applications and even when scrolling through web pages. There does not appear to be a permanent fix at the moment, but some solutions involve resetting the computer’s PRAM, while others have suggested adjusting the display by increasing contrast and reducing transparency via the Accessibility menu.

However as the folks at MacRumors have pointed out, new Macs sometimes tend to be a bit slow as the computer indexes, but after a couple of startups it should be back to normal, but if you’re still experiencing these UI lags then perhaps it’s worth checking out the solutions we mentioned above. Alternatively you could always perform a clean installation of OS X Yosemite to make sure that the issues weren’t transferred over from your backup. Any of our readers’ 2015 13-inch MacBook Pros affected by this?
