The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is rolling out to more Samsung devices with each passing day. Initially the focus was on recent flagship models and now that they’ve all been taken care of, the spotlight is now on other variants as well as mid-range devices. AT&T subscribers who own a Galaxy S5 Active or the Galaxy Alpha should keep their eyes open for an update notification today as the carrier has just started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for these handsets.

AT&T hasn’t been the quickest carrier in the country when it comes to Lollipop updates but that will cease to matter once users receive the update notification on their device. Given that the carrier is just starting to release the update over-the-air it might take some time for it to go live across all regions.

Galaxy S5 Active owners on the country’s second largest carrier should expect the update file to weigh around 1.4GB whereas it’s just under 1GB on the Galaxy Alpha. Both devices will be bumped up to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Once the update is installed the devices will get a revamped user interface, lots of new features, improvements, bug fixes and more.

Before downloading ensure that there’s ample charge in the device’s battery and that it’s connected to a good Wi-Fi network.
