android-5.0-lollipop

The Galaxy S4 Active is nearly two years so understandably it might not have support for future iterations of Android but the device is more than capable of running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Galaxy S4 Active users on AT&T should keep their eyes peeled for an update today because the carrier has finally released Android 5.0 for this device. It may very well be the last major Android update for this device that brings new features and improvements to the overall system.

Material Design influenced user interface will be front and center once the update is downloaded and installed on the device. The new look and feel is aided by more fluid motions which basically makes the UI look much better than previous versions.

New features include a priority mode which only allow select notifications to go through, Smart Lock to secure the device by pairing it with a trusted gadget like a wearable device, updated native applications, new battery saving features and much more.

This update will bump up the core OS version to Android 5.0.1 and is rolling out now for the AT&T Galaxy S4 Active model SGH-I537. It comes in at under 1GB so ensure that you’re hooked up to a decent Wi-Fi network and have ample charge in the battery before you begin downloading the update.
